Sheriff Bonds update in Stone County Leader

The following information is taken from the daily activity logs of deputies with the Stone County Sheriff's Office.

During the week of 3/1 - 3/7 deputies:

. apprehended a wanted subject on Mitchell Road. The suspect was handcuffed, then fled from the officer and is still at large. A search of the area was unable to locate the subject.
. investigated a woman's complaint that her ex-boyfriend threatened to shoot her.
. apprehended a man who jumped from a moving vehicle on Webb Street and took the man to the hospital, where he had to be restrained until treatment could be administered. Acting Chief Deputy Jim Davis said the man was found to have smoked a new version of the drug K2.
. assisted state police with methamphetamine arrest and transported suspect.
. made several arrests in connection with non-payment of child support.
. checked on residents on Brushy Creek Road, Buckhorn Lane, and Highway 5 South.
. assisted Department of Human Services with several home visits
. assisted Mountain View Police Department responding to shoplifting at Walmart.
Deputies also responded to calls including the following:
. complaint of thefts from a home in the Newnata area.
. structure fire on Highland Drive. House was a total loss.
. domestic dispute in Mountain View. Subject arrested and incarcerated.
. car fire on Herpel Road. Fire department responded and extinguished the fire.
. report of a man possibly stealing a battery from a parked car in Saint James. One arrest made.
. report of vehicle vandalism in Marcella.
. cows out on Highway 14 East.
. check location of wanted person in Pleasant Grove.
. complaint of trucks mudding on Luber Road.
. theft report on Brandon Lane.
. transported inmates to and from various facilities.
. possible break-in at Webb Acres.
. building check at Rural Special School.
. problem with juvenile male at Fox.
. possible prowler on Horton Hill Road.
