Sheriff Bonds update in Stone County Leader

The following information is taken from the daily activity logs of deputies with the Stone County Sheriff's Office.

During the week of 3/8 - 3/14 deputies:
. investigated a theft of power lines which had been cut at Pleasant Grove. The sheriff's office noted that this theft illustrates the growing problem of copper theft in Stone County, and asks the public to report any information about metal theft to Deputy Jackie McCool.
. responded to a complaint of a woman violating an order of protection on Sunnyland Road. Woman was arrested and transported to the sheriff's office.
. responded to a complaint of a female assaulting another female on Cooper Hill Cemetery Road. Female accused of the assault not located.
. investigated a theft of property and vandalism on Sugar Hill Road.
. assisted the MVPD and state police on Teague Hightop Road with drug arrest.
. responded to a vandalism report on Sawmill Road.
. made a traffic stop on Herpel Road resulting in an arrest for possession of marijuana.
. transported a prisoner to the medical center.
. transported inmates to court. Recaptured a prisoner who attempted an escape by diving through the courthouse window after being found guilty.
Deputies also served numerous legal papers around the count, and made numerous building checks on stores, churches, schools and fire departments around the county.
Reserve officers supervised prisoner trash pickup, working 3.8 miles of road and collecting 38 bags of trash.
