Press release on-going cases

On 3-13-2013, Deputies with the Stone County Sheriff’s Department, a Special Agent with the Arkansas State Police, and members of the Mountain View Police Department executed a search warrant at the residence of Steven Hibshman located at 174 Teague Hightop Road.  Steven Hibshman, age 40, was arrested for possession of a firearm by a certain person, possession of marijuana, and possession of drug paraphernalia.  The possession of firearm by a certain person is a class D Felony in which if convicted carries a sentence up to 6 years in ADC and a fine not to exceed $10,000.00.  The possession of marijuana and drug paraphernalia are class A Misdemeanors and carries a sentence up to one year in the county jail each.  Hibshman’s bond was set at $7,500.00.

Also on 3-19-2013, Nicholas Carlton, age 35, of Greers Ferry was arrested for residential burglary and theft of property.  The burglary occurred back in December of 2012 on the Old Brewer Road.  The warrant was signed by Judge Fowlkes on February 15, 2013.  Bond was set at $7,500.00.  The residential burglary charge is a Class B Felony which carries a sentence up 5 to 20 years in A.D.C. and a fine not to exceed $15,000.00.  The theft of property charge is a Class A Misdemeanor, which carries a sentence up to 1 year in the County Jail

On 3-19-2013, information was filed on Jason Sasaki, age 32, of Edgemont, AR for residential burglary and theft of property.  Sasaki was involved in the case with Nicholas Carlton.  Sasaki is being held in the Cleburn County Jail on un related charges. 

Information was filed on 3-19-2013 on Charles J. Youngberg for escape 3rd degree, theft of property, and resisting arrest.  Youngberg was arrested on 3-5-2013 by deputies, but shortly escaped custody.  If anyone has any information on Youngberg's where abouts please contact the Sheriff's Department.  

The Sheriff's Department is also investigating a theft that occurred around the 13th or 14th of March on the Cajun Creek Road off of Highway 14 East.  A large amount of farm tools and equipment was taken from a farm.  If anyone seen anything or has any information on this incident or other thefts please contact the Stone County Sheriff's Department.  Your name will be kept confidential and all help would be appreciated. 

The Sheriff's Department is also working a copper wire theft that occurred near Pleasant Grove.  The theft took place back during the first week of March.
