Drug Busts made

Drug Bust:

                On 8-30-2013, the Stone County Sheriff’s Department and members of the 16th Judicial Drug task Force finished up a lengthy investigation at 2301 Town and Country Drive in Mountain View, Ar. Investigator Dammon McGilton with the Stone County Sheriff’s Department and Investigator Bobby Joe Day of the Mountain View Police Department began the investigation on Tracy A. Dobbins, age 56, of Mountain View, AR back in January of 2013. After several months of work the investigation came to an end with an arrest being made.  Members of the 16th District Drug Task force and Deputies with the Stone County Sheriff’s Department served an arrest warrant on Tracy Dobbins for delivery of a controlled substance methamphetamine. Upon serving the arrest warrant officer located 4 ounces of methamphetamine on Dobbins person with a street value of $13,000.00.

                Investigators followed up the arrest with a search warrant at 2301 Town and Country Drive and found several more grams of methamphetamine, drug paraphernalia, guns and money.  Members of the 16th District Drug Task force, Stone County Sheriff’s Department, Mountain View Police Department, and Arkansas Game and Fish Commission executed the warrant. Dobbin’s is facing eight felony charges. They are as follows:  Delivery of Methamphetamine over 2 grams, a Class B felony, Possession of a controlled substance, crystal methamphetamine, with the purpose to deliver, a class A felony, Simultaneous Possession of Drugs and Firearms, a Class Y Felony;  Possession of Drug Paraphernalia, a Class B Felony; Possession of a schedule I or II controlled substance (Oxycodone) with the purpose to deliver, a Class B Felony; Use of a Communication device, a Class C Felony; Maintaining a drug premise, a Class C Felony. The Y Felony carries a sentence of 10-40 years to life in A.D.C. The A Felony carries a sentence of 6 to 30 to life in A.D.C. The B Felony carries a sentence of 5 to 20 years in each in A.D.C. The C Felony carries a sentence of 3 to 10 years in A.D.C. each. Dobbins bond on the delivery of methamphetamine was set at $25,000.00. The bond on the remaining seven charges was set at $100,000.00.

 

Drug Bust #2

                On 9-3-2013, members of the 16th District Drug task force, Stone County Sheriff’s Department, and Independence County Sheriff’s Department worked an investigation stemming from the 8-30-13 bust.  The investigation led officers to making two arrests for possession of a controlled substance methamphetamine with the purpose to deliver.  Investigators seized approximately four ounces of crystal methamphetamine with a street value of $13,000.00. David Hernandez-Alcon, age 30, of Batesville and a seventeen year old juvenile of Batesville was arrested for possession of a controlled substance with the purpose to deliver, a Class A Felony. Prosecutors with the 16th District Prosecuting Attorney’s Office are filing the juvenile as an adult in the Stone County Circuit Court. The Class A Felony carries a sentence of 6 to 30 years to life in A.D.C. and a fine not to exceed $15,000.00 if convicted .

On 9-4-2013 prosecutor certified the juvenile in Circuit Court as an adult. Roni Temaj-Bamaca, age 17, of Batesville had a bond set at $100,000. Bond was set on Hernandez-Alcon for $50,000.00. Both have had holds placed on them by Homeland Security.

Investigators have seized a total of a half-pound of crystal methamphetamine with a street value of $26,000.00 over past few days.
