Reference: Rivera, Fernando (Age: 32 years of age) (Address: Onia, Arkansas) (Sexual Indecency with a Child)

On May 24, 2015, Stone County Sheriff Lance Bonds assigned investigators from the Stone County Sheriff’s Department to investigate information and leads involving the possible “Sexual Indecency with a Child”.   During the course of the investigation, it was determined that on at least one occasion, Fernando Rivera (H/M - 32 years of age) had inappropriately touched an eleven (11) year old female, while at the child’s residence.

Further investigation revealed that Rivera had fled the Stone County area and traveled to Craighead County (Jonesboro), to possibly avoid arrest. When this was discovered a joint investigation into the whereabouts of Rivera was conducted between the Stone County Sheriff’s Department and the Second Judicial Drug Task Force.

On August 3, 2015 at approximately 12:30pm, Fernando Rivera was contacted by Second Judicial Drug Enforcement Agents at the Court Yard Condos (201 Judy, Jonesboro) and taken into custody in regard to the outstanding Stone County warrants. When a search of Rivera’s person and property was conducted, an undisclosed amount of illegal narcotics were discovered.

Rivera was transported to the Craighead County Detention Center where he awaits a probable cause hearing. Once Craighead County charges are disposed of, Rivera will be transported back to Stone County where he will stand trial.
