Video Voyeurism / Rape / Sexual Assault / INTRODUCTION OF A CONTROLLED SUBSTANCE INTO THE BODY OF ANOTHER PERSON

Sheriff Lance Bonds states that on February 2, 2017, a female victim filed a report at the Stone County Sheriff’s Office, reporting that she had been battered by an individual known as Matthew Ming, (37 of Clarksville, Arkansas) the afternoon of February 2, 2017, at the Sylamore Creek Campground in Stone County, Arkansas. The victim reported that she went to the campground to speak with Ming and when she entered his camper she saw a video playing in the camper. The video depicted the victim unconscious while Ming performed sexual intercourse with the victim. The victim confronted Ming about the video showing her being raped while she was unconscious.

During the course of the investigation, several search warrants were executed relating to evidence pertinent to the case.  After reviewing the evidence at hand, a determination was made to arrest Ming.  On February 23, 2017, Matthew Ming was taken into custody without incident,  at a camper trailer in the Sylamore Creek Campground.

At this time the investigation remains open, with other charges possible. Matthew Ming has been formally charged by Prosecuting Attorney Holly Meyer with numerous counts of RAPE, CRIME OF VIDEO VOYEURISM, SEXUAL ASSAULT IN THE SECOND DEGREE, INTRODUCTION OF A CONTROLLED SUBSTANCE INTO THE BODY OF ANOTHER PERSON and VIOLATION OF AN ORDER OF PROTECTION.

Matthew Ming is currently being held in the Stone County Detention Center on $1,000,000.00 (One Million Dollar) bond. Sheriff Bonds states that cases like this will "Shake you to the core."  "This case will remain open in the likelihood that more charges or victims  may come to light."

Sheriff Bonds credits Investigators Blake Cruz and Jim Doss with the diligent work put in on this case.
