FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

Sheriff Lance Bonds states that with just over a month until Mother’s Day, the Stone County Sheriff’s Office will be conducting a child support warrant roundup for individuals failing to pay child support.

Operation Mother’s Day, will involve Investigators and deputies from the Stone County Sheriff’s Office uniformed patrol, and criminal investigation division.

"Our deputies and investigators will make a concentrated effort directed at orders of child support body attachments for this endeavor."

“With the continuation of operations such as “Operation Mother’s Day”, we recognize all parents who support their children, and encourage all parents to assume responsibility for improving the economic and social well-being of their children.”

We urge individuals on our "RADAR" to contact the Sheriff's Office and make arrangements to rectify their current situation.

To avoid arrest and jail, those who have fallen behind or defaulted on their child support payments, but do not have warrants for their arrest should contact the Office of Child Support Enforcement to arrange payments.  Parents with child support warrants, who remain non-compliant through Saturday, May 13, 2017 can surrender themselves to the Stone County Detention Center or risk being arrested at a later date.
