Sheriff Lance Bonds states that on July 21st, 2017, the complainant in this case contacted the Stone County Sheriff's Department, in regard to a stolen vehicle. According to the complainant, Darlene Huckabee, the suspect, had refused to return his 2000 Chevrolet Silverado pickup, after driving it to work.

On Wednesday, July 19, 2017, Huckabee failed to return the vehicle to the owner. Information was gathered that showed Huckabee had left Mountain View and traveled to Missouri without the permission of the owner. As of July 27, 2017, the vehicle has been entered NCIC as stolen. The suspect, Huckabee, has an active warrant for probation violation/shoplifting, which is unrelated to this investigation.

HUCKABEE has been formally charged by Prosecuting Attorney Holly Meyer with 1 COUNT OF THEFT OF PROPERTY and being a HABITUAL OFFENDER. Her bond was set at $10,000.00.  At this time she is at large.
