During the early morning hours of August 28, 2017, Sergeant Mark Long passed away while in route to a local hospital in Mountain View, Arkansas, after concluding his shift. The cause of death is believed to be natural causes.

Sergeant Long was a six year veteran of the Stone County Sheriff's Department, where he was assigned as Patrol Supervisor. Sergeant Long will be missed by many in the community, and his law enforcement brothers and sisters.  Our condolences go out to the Long family and the Stone County Sheriff's Department during this difficult time.

Visitation will be August 29, 2017 from 6PM - 8PM, at the Flatwoods Baptist Church in Mountain View.

Funeral will be August 30, 2017 at 10AM, at the Flatwoods Baptist Church in Mountain View.
