Possession of Firearms by Certain Persons / Resisting Arrest

Sheriff Lance Bonds states that on January 3, 2018, Investigators with his agency, the Arkansas State Police and an Agent with the Sixteenth Judicial Task Force attempted to serve an arrest warrant on Danuel Osburn of Edgemont, Arkansas. Osburn had driven to the Stone County Sheriff's Department to pay a fine when he was contacted by Trooper B. Johnson of Troop I.

The warrant was issued on December 11, 2017, after Osburn had been contacted by other officers, and was in possession of a firearm. Osburn is a convicted felon therefore, cannot possess a firearm under Arkansas law.  When Officers told Osburn he was under arrest, Osburn became defiant and refused to be incarcerated.  A scuffle ensued, at which time Osburn was contained and handcuffed.

Osburn is currently in custody at the Stone County Detention Center where he awaits trial for Possession of Firearms by Certain Persons and Resisting Arrest. His bond has been set at $10,000.00
