Sheriff Bonds update in Stone County Leader

The following information is taken from the daily activity logs of deputies with the Stone County Sheriff's Office.

During the week of 11/30 - 12/6 deputies responded to the following:
. report of reckless driving on Highway 66.
. domestic disturbance on Thomas Road.
. report of gunshots on Pitcher Hill Road (neighbor dispute).
. combative individual at Stone County Medical Center emergency room (assisted MVPD). Resulted in a misdemeanor arrest.
. report of an intoxicated individual on Herpel Road. Resulted in arrest.
. building checks in Timbo and Round Mountain area, Optimus, and Fox.
. vehicle in ditch on Highway 14 East.
. prowler call in Blue Mountain Road area. No contact.
. civil stand-by in Onia area.
. vehicle hazardously parking on highway.
. suspicious persons on Roaring River Road (off Highway 14 East) and on QMC Road (off Highway 5 North).
. help unload commodities at the fairgrounds.
. shots fired on Barnhart Road. No contact.
. suspicious odor (chemical smell) on Highland. Nothing found.
. report of night hunting on Herpel Road. No contact.
. domestic disturbance on Maple Avenue (assisted MVPD).
. residence check in Sunnyland area.
. funeral escort.
. possible drunk driver on Highway 14 East. No contact.

Deputies also transported inmates to and from various facilities, served legal papers around the county, and assisted DHS on several visits. The department also picked up trash around the county, collecting six bags over three miles in the city and 10 bags over two miles in the county.

The sheriff would like to remind residents that it is illegal to dump animals, and anyone caught doing so will be issued a citation.
