Sheriff Bonds update in Stone County Leader

The following information is taken from the daily activity logs of deputies with the Stone County Sheriff's Office.
During the week of 7/26 - 8/1 deputies:
. Made a theft report on Hwy. 5 North.
. Checked on the welfare of a Hwy. 66 resident. Subject was staying at another residence.
. Made a security check on Haywood Lane.
. Made a felony arrest for the probation office.
. Responded to a two-vehicle accident caused by a one-vehicle accident on Luber Road.
. Responded to horses in the road on Hwy. 9 South. Owner located.
. Assisted Vital Link with an emergency on Hwy. 87.
. Made a theft report on Shepherd Point.
. Made a break-in report at Teague Hilltop.
. Made various building checks around the county.
. Responded to a cow out on Jimmy Creek Road.
. Made an animal cruelty report on Brock Hill.
. Transported inmates to court.
. Helped subject recover personal medication items on King Street.
. Made a break-in report on J. Lynne Road.
. Made a theft report on Horton Hill Road.
. Responded to a nuisance animal on Iron Mountain.
. Responded to a call at the recycling center on dogs not letting workers out of their vehicle.
. Responded to a mule out on Hwy. 5 South.
. Picked up a juvenile on Blue Mountain Road whose mother is in jail in Searcy County.
Sheriff Lance Bonds said that there has been an increase in the number of thefts reported in the county recently. Fuel, batteries and items from vehicles have been stolen. The sheriff advised the public that if they see something suspicious, not to intervene personally, but to try to get a description and license tag number and to call the sheriff's office The sheriff has called some residents in neighborhoods where thefts have occurred to warn them to be cautious.
