On September 20, 2014, while acting on a tip, the Stone County Sheriff’s Department responded to a residence on Half Moon Road in Stone County. The received information led Sheriff Bonds and deputies to an undisclosed amount of processed and packaged marijuana, a Scheduled VI narcotic. Also located on the premises were an undisclosed number of marijuana plants still in the growing stage.
One person, Jerry Wayne Barnett, was taken into custody at the location. At the time of the press release, Barnett was still in custody at the Stone County Detention Center awaiting a bond hearing. His charges are Manufacture of Schedule VI Controlled Substance / Possession of Schedule VI Controlled Substance with Purpose to Deliver / Possession of Drug Paraphernalia / Offenses Relating to Records, Maintaining Premises, Etc.
The value of the narcotics seized, have an approximate street value of $15,000.00 (Fifteen Thousand Dollars)
