Kevin Anthony Arrest

Sheriff Lance Bonds states that on January 25th, 2017 Deputy Justin Meeks was patrolling Highway 5 South. While patrolling, the deputy met a vehicle driven by Kevin Anthony of Stone County. The deputy realized that the displayed license plate on Anthony's vehicle was obstructed an could not be read. After seeing this, the deputy conducted a traffic stop on Hwy. 5 south, near Cove Road.

After the deputy approached the vehicle, Anthony told Deputy Meeks he didn't have a valid driver's license. While conducting a roadside investigation, Meeks observed a rifle in the vehicle. It was later learned that the rifle was loaded. After checking Anthony through ACIC, the deputy learned that Anthony was a convicted felon and his driver's license was suspended.

During the investigation, Meeks also located in the vehicle, a narcotics smoking device and a baggie containing a green vegetable substance believed to be marijuana. Kevin Anthony was placed under arrest and transported to the Stone County Detention Center for processing.
