Sheriff Lance Bonds states that February 14, 2018, deputies with his agency responded to a domestic disturbance at the Hilltop Store on Hwy. 9 south.  After arriving, the deputies spoke with the 68 year old victim.  The victim stated that the suspect had struck her at least three times in the head.  The victim also complained of pain in her hand.  The victim stated she had attempted to "block" the blows from the suspect, but was unsuccessful in doing so.

Photos were taken of the injuries and paramedics were called to the scene. After the victim was transported via ambulance, deputies drove to the residence on Misenheimer Road, where the offense occurred.  After contacting the suspect, Matthew Sutter, 33 years of age of Mountain View, he was placed under arrest and transported to the Stone County Detention Center for processing.

Sutter has been charged by Prosecuting Attorney Holly Meyer with Domestic Battery Second Degree. He remains in custody.
