ENDAGERING THE WELFARE OF A MINOR IN THE FIRST DEGREE

Sheriff Lance Bonds states that on March 22, 2018, deputies with his office responded to a physical disturbance between a male and female in the Fox, AR area.

After arriving in the area, deputies contacted the female victim at the Fox Post Office.  The victim stated that the suspect, Royce Callahan (36 years of age) from Fox had choked her while in the kitchen of a residence. 

At one point, the victim attempted to gather clothes in an attempt to leave however, Callahan allegedly prevented her from doing so by blocking her passage.  According to the victim, Callahan allegedly choked and struck the victim several times as she held a toddler in her arms.  A short time later, the victim was successful in fleeing the residence and contacting authorities.

On March 26, 2018, Royce Callahan was contacted at his residence in the Fox area, by Stone County deputies.  Callahan was arrested on formal charges prepared by Sixteenth Judicial Prosecuting Attorney Holly Meyers.

Royce Callahan has been charged with:

COUNT 1-2:               DOMESTIC BATTERING IN THE THIRD DEGREE

(A.C.A. § 5-26-305(a)(1))  Class A Misdemeanor

 

COUNT 3:                  ENDAGERING THE WELFARE OF A MINOR IN THE FIRST DEGREE (A.C.A. § 5-27-205(a)(1)(b))  Class D Felony

 

His bond was set at $10,000.00, cash or professional. 

He awaits a Stone County Circuit Court date.
