Whitman responsible for multiple crimes

 

Case 1:

Sheriff Lance Bonds states that on June 6, 2017, an individual contacted the Stone County Sheriff's Department and reported that his 4 Wheeler had been stolen from his residence on Sunny Fox Road. The 4 Wheeler was parked under the security light in the yard. When asked if anything else was missing, the homeowner found that a shotgun was missing from the back seat of his pickup truck.

 

Case 2:

On September 8, 2017, an individual contacted the Stone County Sheriff's Office to report that a residence which he is building on Benson Lane, was entered and a number of hand tools were taken along with a surveillance camera.

 

Case 3:

On September 13th, 2017, an individual called the Sheriff's Office wanting to make a report that someone had broke into a residence on Hanover Road. It was also discovered that numerous items were stolen from the Hanover Road residence.

 

Case 4:

On April 3, 2018, Sergeant Michael Stephen, was dispatched to a residence on Gunner Pool Road to take a report on stolen 4x4 ATV from the storage building. The home owner stated that the residence was their hunting cabin.

 

On April 4, 2018,Investigator Brad Breeding was in contact with Cleburne County Sheriff Detective Brandon Long.  It was determined that the stolen ATV from Gunner Pool was located after a pursuit with the stolen ATV, resulted in the arrest of Brent Allen Whitman, 24 years old, of Floyd, Arkansas.      

 

Investigator Breeding drove to the Cleburne County Detention Center and interviewed Brent Allen Whitman. In a post Miranda interview, Brent Allen Whitman admitted to Investigator Breeding, that he was responsible for the Hanover Road Burglary and Theft, the Benson Lane Breaking or Entering and Theft, the Gunner Pool Road Breaking or Entering and Theft and the Sunny Fox Road Theft.

 

Investigator Breeding transported Whitman back to Stone County where he remains in custody. Sixteenth Judicial Prosecuting Attorney Holly Meyer has formally charged Brent Allen Whitman with:

 

COUNT 1:                   RESIDENTIAL BURGLARY (A.C.A. § 5-39-201(a)(1)(2)

 

COUNTS 2,3,4:          BREAKING OR ENTERING (A.C.A. § 5-39-202(a)(1)

 

COUNTS 5,6,7:          THEFT OF PROPERTY (A.C.A. § 5-36-103(a)(1)(b)(2)(A)

 

COUNT 8:                  THEFT OF PROPERTY (A.C.A. § 5-36-103(a)(1)(b)(3)(A)(B)

 

Whitman's bond has been set at $10,000.00 CASH.

 

Sheriff Bonds also states that Whitman is responsible for other crimes that has yet to be adjudicated. Whitman was currently out on bond on his previous charges.
