On August 21, 2019, The Stone County Detention Facility began a substance abuse program for the inmates. Currently Alcoholics Anonymous and Narcotics Anonymous have begun with GED and other substance abuse programs planned to begin by the end of 2019. 

These programs are open to male and female inmates who have a class one rating. It is hoped these programs will help inmates with their addictions upon their release from the facility.
