Stone County Sheriff Lance Bonds

Deputies and Office of Emergency Management were busy during the winter weather.  Officers assisted numerous motorist and citizens throughout the county.  They assisted in getting essential personnel to work and medical calls.  Numerous vehicles were slid off in the ditch.  Sheriff Bonds would like to thank the volunteers that came in and assisted the Sheriff's Department in helping the citizens.      

On February 6, Deputies Dammon McGilton, Trevor Leonard, and Agent J.C. Logan arrested Justin KELLAMS, age 39, for domestic Battey 3rd and parole violations.  This occurred after receiving a call of domestic violence on Highway 14 near Fifty Six.  He is in the Stone County Jail.   

On February 6, Deputies Trevor Leonard and Brian Rose arrested John Brandon KOCHER, age 43, of Fox, Arkansas for absconding and a bench warrant out of Stone County for probation violations.  He is awaiting a court appearance.

On February 8, Deputies Dammon McGilton, Trevor Leonard, Agents J.C. Logan and Gabe Sanders went to a location on Cajun Creek Road in an attempt to serve a felony arrest warrant.  Officers located Darrell R. MASSEY, age 51, of Mountain View standing beside his truck in the edge of a field.  MASSEY was an absconder and was wanted for probation violations on drug charges.  He was taken into custody.  After further investigation, officers located approximately 2 grams of crystal meth and drug paraphernalia.  He was transported to the Stone County Jail.  

On February 9, charges were filed on Rebecca AVEY, age 42, of Mountain View for possession of meth and Possession of drug paraphernalia.  Bond was set at $5,000.00.  This stemmed from a November traffic stop investigation.  She is currently an absconder and is wanted out of Stone County.

On February 10, Drew LUKER, age 25, of Star City, was arrested on a Felony Bench Warrant for failure to appear on a Domestic Battery 2nd.  He was placed in the Stone County Jail with a no bond pending a court appearance.      

On February 10, at approximately 11:35 p.m., Deputy Trevor Leonard got out with a vehicle on a motorist assist on Highway 5 North near Sylamore.  The vehicle had pulled over to the shoulder of the road and Deputy Leonard checked their well-being.  The driver and passenger appeared under the influence of a controlled substance.  The driver was identified as Norman LASECKI, age 47, of Flippin and passenger as Stacy LASECKI, age 49, of Flippin.  After further investigation and receiving consent to search Deputy Leonard located methamphetamine and drug paraphernalia in the vehicle and on their person.  Both were arrested for possession of meth less than two grams and possession of drug paraphernalia.      

 

 

 

 

 

On February 11, Investigators with the Stone County Sheriff's Department, Mountain View Police Department, and Drug Task Force executed a stolen property search warrant on Moore Road in Stone County.  This came after a complaint of a theft from Excel Boats involving an employee.  Upon execution of the search warrant, investigators located 12 outboard motor mufflers belonging to Excel Boats, valued at over $5,000.00, approximately 1.7 pounds of marijuana packaged in separate packages, 3.4 grams of methamphetamine, multiple firearms, two sets of digital scales, marijuana grinders, baggies, methamphetamine smoking devices, and syringes.  Terry Guthrie, age 58, of Mountain View was arrested for possession of crystal meth 2-10 grams a class "C" Felony; Possession of Marijuana with the Purpose to Deliver over 4 ounces but less than 25 pounds, a Class "C" Felony; Simultaneous Possession of Drugs and Firearms, a Class "Y" Felony; Maintaining a Drug Premises, a Class "C" Felony; Theft of Property over $5,000.00 but less than $25,000.00, a Class "C" Felony; Possession of a Firearm by a Certain Person, a Class "D" Felony.  GUTHRIE has prior felony convictions and will be charged as a habitual offender.  Investigators seized $18,410 U.S. Currency and eight firearms.  GUTHRIE is pending a first appearance in Stone County Circuit Court.
