On 2-13-2022, Deputy Michael Tharp stopped a Chevrolet truck for careless driving on Highway 66 in Timbo.  The driver was identified as Glenn MARSHALL, age 41, of Mountain View.  MARSHALL was intoxicated and marijuana found in the vehicle.  After further investigation, MARSHALL was arrested for DWI 2nd Offense, Possession of Marijuana, and Refuse Chemical Test.  

 

On 2-16-2022, Stone County Deputies, Mountain View Police, Izard County Deputies, 16th District Drug Task Force, Arkansas Department of Corrections K-9 Unit, and others took Joshua D. WHITWORTH, age 36, into custody early Wednesday morning after an all-night manhunt.  He was arrested in Sylamore in Izard County.  He is on the Texas Top 10 Most Wanted Fugitive list and was wanted on numerous dangerous felonies.  WHITWORTH is being charged with possession of meth 2-10 grams, resisting arrest, and fleeing.  After he is finished with Izard County Charges he will be extradited back to Texas.  For more details, see earlier press releases. 

 

On 2-17-2022, Dennis G. MAXWELL, age 43, was arrested on a Felony Warrant in Izard County and transported back to Stone County.  Chief Deputy Dammon McGilton arrested MAXWELL for Terroristic Threatening 1st Degree and Harassing Communications.  This case stemmed from an investigation that occurred around February 9, where MAXWELL threatened sexual assault on a woman.  MAXWELL is in the Stone County Jail on a $50,000.00 bond. 

 

On 2-18-2022, at approximately 9:00a.m., Investigators with the Stone County Sheriff's Department and 16th Judicial District Drug Task Force executed a search warrant at an apartment complex in Pleasant Grove near the Jackson's Store.  Upon execution of the warrant, Shawn JACKSON, age 27, of Pleasant Grove was arrested for being a Parole Absconder.  Billy Kyle SUTTERFIELD, age 31, of Pleasant Grove was arrested for probation violations.  SUTTERFIELD and JACKSON are under investigation for possession of Oxycodone pills also.  Chad DAYBERRY, age 30, of Pleasant Grove was found to be in possession of methamphetamine.  DAYBERRY is being charged with possession of meth less than 2 grams.  Drug paraphernalia was also located in the residence.  The case is currently under investigation. 

 

On 2-18-2022, at approximately 10:00a.m., Investigator Justin Meeks stopped a Black SUV for no license plate on Lindsey Hill Road in Pleasant Grove.  The driver was identified as Steven WILLIAMS, age 31, of Mountain View.  WILLIAMS was found to be under the influence of methamphetamine.  Crystal Meth under two grams and drug paraphernalia was located on WILLIAMS.  He was charged with DWI-Drugs, Refuse Chemical Test, Possession of Meth less than two grams, possession of Drug Paraphernalia. He was also currently out on bond for possession of meth. 

    

On 2- 18-2022, Deputy Trevor Leonard and Agent J.C. Logan stopped a Silver Chevrolet near Rushing on Highway 9 for crossing the center line.  The driver was identified as William Brandon HILL, age 46, of Viola, AR.  HILL appeared intoxicated and was drinking alcohol.  After further investigation, HILL was arrested for DWI, drinking on the highway, and careless driving.  He was transported to the Stone County Jail. 

 

On 2-19-2022, Deputy Trevor Leonard stopped a Dodge Intrepid on Highway 5 near the Scenic Overlook for speeding and crossing the center line.  The driver was identified as Brittany OWEN, age 30, of Calico Rock.  OWEN appeared under the influence of controlled substances.  After further investigation Xanax was also located.  OWEN was arrested for driving under the influence of drugs, possession of a schedule IV narcotic, no insurance, and refuse chemical test.  She was transported to the Stone County Detention Center.
