Aggravated Assault / Second Degree Battery

 Fountain.Jpg

Sheriff Lance Bonds states that on January 3rd, Stone County Investigators responded to a call of a female that had tried unsuccessfully to injure herself, and then had barricaded herself inside a residence on Oxley Rd in Stone County.

The victim in this case, had blood on his person and said he had received cuts when he tried to take a knife away from Fountain, during the incident.  After approaching the residence, Sheriff's Investigator Brad Breeding could hear Fountain inside the residence yelling threats to burn the house down.

After a few moments, Investigator Breeding entered the residence to reason with Fountain. While inside the residence, the investigator observed a liquid on the floor, which Fountain stated was flammable.  The investigator also observed Fountain holding a burning candle and a can that contained a gas propelled flammable substance, while in proximity of the liquid, while still threatening to set fire to the house.

Fountain stated that she had tried to injure herself when an argument with her grandmother escalated.  After approximately one hour, Fountain surrendered to the Sheriff's Department.

Fountain is currently in custody at the Stone County Detention Center after being formally charged by Prosecuting Attorney Holly Meyer, with 2 Counts of DOMESTIC BATTERING IN THE SECOND DEGREE a Class C Felony and 1 Count of AGGRAVATED ASSAULT ON A FAMILY OR HOUSEHOLD MEMBER a Class D Felony.  Her bond has been set at $25,000.00.
