Investigations results in arrests

 

According to Chief Deputy Dammon McGilton, he and his department has been conducting narcotic investigations in the Blue Sky and QMC area of Stone County.  Chief Deputy McGilton stated that on Monday morning, members of the Stone County Sheriff's Department, 16th Judicial District Drug Task Force, Mountain View Police Department, and Arkansas Community Corrections Parole Agents executed a narcotic search warrant at the residence of Philip Travis BAUGH located at 839 Sawmill Road. 

Upon execution of the warrant, investigators located approximately seven grams of Crystal Methamphetamine, digital scales, baggies, and other drug paraphernalia in the residence.  Investigators arrested three individuals in the home and transported them to the Stone County Detention Center.  Street value of the drugs is Seven Hundred Dollars.  

Philip Travis BAUGH, age 42, of Mountain View was charged with Possession of Crystal Meth 2-10 grams with the Purpose to Deliver, a Class B Felony which if convicted carries a sentence of 5 to 20 years in the Arkansas Department of Corrections and a fine not to exceed $15, 000.00.  He was also charged with Maintaining a Drug Premises, a Class C Felony, which if convicted carries a sentence of 3 to 10 years in the Arkansas Department of Corrections and a fine not to exceed $10,000.00.  BAUGH'S bond was set at $10,000.00.   

Briana R. EVERSOLL, age 30, of Mountain View was charged with Possession of Crystal Meth 2-10 grams with the Purpose to Deliver, (B Felony), Maintaining a Drug Premises, (C Felony), and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia with the Purpose to Use Meth after having at least one conviction, (Class D Felony).  EVERSOLL'S bond was set at $10,000.00. 

Alva Leon BAUGH, age 39, of Mountain View was arrested for Possession of an Instrument of a Crime which is a Misdemeanor.  He was released from jail on a citation to appear in district court.

Charges were filed on Elliot Gene GILBERT, age 45, of Cabot, Arkansas.  He is charged with Failure to Register as a Sex Offender, a Class C Felony.  He is a level 2 Offender.  This charge stems from an investigation, where GILBERT moved to Stone County and failed to register with the City/County Sex Offender Coordinator.  As of this press release, GILBERT has not been located.  Chief Deputy McGilton asked the citizens if you know the location of GILBERT, please contact him at the Stone County Sheriff's Department or Officer Liz Parsons with the Mountain View Police Department.  All help is appreciated.   His bond is set at $50,000.00. 

Charges were filed on Brian HOOKS, age 44, of Timbo, Arkansas for Possession of Crystal Meth, DWI-Drugs, and Careless driving.  The charges stem from a traffic accident that occurred on July 31, 2021, when Deputy Bryan Rose responded to Happy Hollow Road for a one vehicle accident.  Meth was located in the vehicle.  The possession of meth is a "D" Felony and the other charges were misdemeanors.  His bond was set at $7,500.00.

Charges were filed on Candice M. MCELROY for possession of meth and possession of drug paraphernalia.  This charge stems from a consensual encounter on Highway 14 in Saint James.  Deputies Trevor Leonard and Bryan Rose were approached by the individual, who was under the influence of meth and gave them a false name.  After further investigation, Deputies located a methamphetamine smoking device and a baggie containing less than two grams of meth.  She is charged with a Class "D" Felony and a Class "A" Misdemeanor.  Her bond was set at $5,000.00.

On July 31, 2021, Deputy Trevor Leonard attempted to stop a Chevrolet pickup on Highway 14 near Saint James.  The truck was being driven by Mark A. PINKSTON, age 54, of Batesville.  Deputy Leonard recognized PINKSTON and knew that he had a warrant for failure to appear with the Stone County District Court.  When Deputy Leonard attempted to initiate a traffic stop, PINKSTON fled in a vehicle and turned onto Mount Joy Cemetery Road.  After a short pursuit, PINKSTON wrecked out and struck a tree.  PINKSTON then exited his vehicle and fled on foot into a wooded area.  He was captured by Deputy Leonard and taken into custody.  Crystal Meth was located on the ground near where PINKSTON was apprehended.  The meth weighed less than two grams.  PINKSTON was charged with Possession of Crystal Meth less than two grams, Possession of Drug Paraphernalia, fleeing in a Vehicle, fleeing on foot, and Reckless Driving.  His bond was set at $25,000.00. 

On July 31, 2021, Deputies were dispatched to a domestic disturbance involving firearms on Glenn Lane in the Herpel Road area.  Upon arrival, deputies were informed of an intoxicated man waving a firearm around near his family members.  Joey PRICE, age 50, of Mountain View was arrested and charged with Public Intoxication and First-Degree Assault on a Family Member.  He was transported to the Stone County Jail.  Both are misdemeanors charges and he was later released with a court date to appear in the Stone County District Court.
